Professional Consultation

professional therapy consultations

Navigating the road to recovery or supporting a loved one through their process can sometimes be daunting. At Mindful Psychology Associates, we offer the following professional consultation services that can assist you in your journey:

Support/Family Consultations

Support/Family Consultation meetings are most typically utilized to discuss concerns about a loved one, receive psychoeducation regarding how to best support your loved one related to their mental health concerns (e.g., eating disorders), or navigate appropriate treatment recommendations.

These professional consultation sessions are focused on providing the support person with psychoeducation and effective strategies for supporting their loved one’s mental health concerns and are not family therapy.

Second Opinion Consultations

Second Opinion Consultations are typically utilized when an individual or members of a treatment team might be feeling stalled in their work together and believe it would be beneficial to have an additional perspective. This kind of consultation aims to assist in providing additional ideas, potential interventions or support you in achieving clarity in your direction to take the next steps you need to get unstuck.

All Professional Consultations

  • Can be a one-time meeting or take place over the course of a few consultations to provide additional guidance to help you along your way.
  • Are NOT psychotherapy or family therapy and does not represent a therapeutic relationship.
  • Fees are $200 per hour and are billed as an out-of-pocket service as they are not therapy services; therefore, it is not appropriate to bill to health insurance and a diagnosis will not be given (A preliminary diagnosis may be discussed if helpful dependent on the situation).
  • Will be conducted by only our most seasoned Clinical Psychologists.
