Background
Dr. Andy Carton, Psy.D., (he/him/his) earned his doctorate in psychology from George Washington University in Washington, DC, in 2020. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at a residential eating disorder treatment center in Chicago and has previously served as a clinician at a residential substance abuse rehabilitation facility in Washington, D.C.
In addition, Dr. Andy completed his pre-doctoral externship at the College Counseling Center of the University of District of Columbia, a historically black public university, and the George Washington University Center Clinic. Dr. Andy earned a master’s degree in psychology and a graduate certificate in political psychology from George Washington University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Towson University. Dr. Andy’s clinical and research interests include health psychology, fitness psychology, and social psychology.
Dr. Andy is a postdoctoral fellow at Mindful Psychology Associates, which means he is working towards licensure and as such is directly supervised by Licensed Clinical Psychologist Amanda Stagg, Psy.D.
