Eating Disorders

psychologists for adolescents

Are you concerned about your own or a loved one’s behavior around eating? Maybe you’re feeling out of control and binge eating, or noticing that you tend to restrict food intake and are finding yourself obsessing about types and amounts of foods that you’re consuming. Did your dieting get out of control and you realize that you now may be underweight but feel conflicted on how to get your behaviors back on track?

At Mindful Psychology Associates, we have several clinicians who specialize in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating.

We treat the entire spectrum of issues including:

  • Anorexia Nervosa
  • Bulimia Nervosa
  • Binge Eating Disorder
  • ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)
  • OSFED (Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders)
  • Body image issues
  • Orthorexia
  • Emotional eating

Because the treatment of eating disorders often requires a multi-disciplinary approach, we often collaborate with and work with trusted adjunct professionals including dieticians, internists, and psychiatrists. Secrecy and shame are frequently components of struggling with an eating disorder, so sometimes the hardest step is reaching out for help. We are here to offer compassionate, skilled care in working with someone who is struggling with eating related concerns.
