Mood and Anxiety Group

mood and anxiety group

Have you recently completed an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and are transitioning back to outpatient care? Or are you finding that you could benefit from the support of a group in addition to your weekly individual therapy sessions?

Navigating the transition from an IOP to an outpatient therapy setting can feel challenging. During this time people are beginning to implement newly-learned skills with a decreased level of support from what they were recently receiving.

Alternatively, reaching out for help and recognizing you might benefit from more support than just once-per-week therapy can feel scary or anxiety-provoking. Maybe your mental health concerns have started to impact your day-to-day life or have felt challenging to cope with.

The Mood and Anxiety Group provides small group support for individuals navigating this stage. Here you will find a space to talk about your struggles and challenges while receiving support and feedback from your peers. This group will also teach psychological skills from DBT, ACT, and mindfulness modalities.

Ideal candidates for this group are individuals who are stepping down from a higher level of care program or recognize they need more support than once-a-week therapy currently provides. This may also include individuals currently considering stepping up to or on a waiting list for a mood, anxiety, trauma, or dual diagnosis IOP who would like additional support. We ask for an 8-week commitment to help support the development of a safe space for all group members. We ask that you are also in individual therapy in addition to group.

Facilitated by psychologist Amanda (Snell) Stagg, Psy.D.
